Spring Recess

Friendly reminder that there is NO SCHOOL next week due to Spring Recess, which will be held from April 14th to April 18th. Classes will resume on April 21st at their usual times.

While we encourage everyone to take full advantage of this break, we also want to remind you that students can keep their learning on track with the iReady platform. There is an ongoing contest, and their activity will be tracked during the break. We invite students to engage with the platform at their convenience.

Additionally, please keep in mind that today is the last day to complete the NYC School Survey. Your feedback is essential in helping us enhance our school community. If you have not filled out the survey yet, we greatly appreciate you taking a moment to do so.

Multicultural Fair

We are thrilled to announce we will be having our very first Multicultural Fair! This special event will take place on May 1, from 4 PM to 7 PM, and we warmly invite you to join us in celebrating the rich diversity of our community.

Today we are sending home a flyer with additional details about the event. As part of the festivities, we kindly ask families to contribute a dish from their culture to share with everyone. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the flavors and traditions that make each culture unique while fostering connection and appreciation among all.

We look forward to seeing you and enjoying the delicious dishes that reflect the beautiful diversity of our community!

For just $20 per child, your little ones will enjoy:
Children Will: run, climb, jump, and slide their way through an incredible play space
Parents Will: hang out at the cafe and relax while children play
Private Event: Open only for our PS 2 Community
You may purchase snacks and food at Kanga's Cafe
Sign the waiver to ensure easy entry https://kangaslongisland.pcsparty.com/sign/. Signing the waiver does not grant entry into Kanga's you MUST purchase tickets through Cheddar Up.

Proceeds will be donated to PS 2Q, 5th grade graduation events.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is full! We’ve accumulated many items since earlier this school year, including coats, sweaters, hats, glasses, lunchboxes, and water bottles. To help you identify anything that might belong to your child, we’ve attached a video and pictures of the items.

If you recognize any of the items, please email Ms. Pinto ([email protected]) or Ms. Trinidad ([email protected]) with a detailed description. We’ll make sure the item gets back to your child.

Please note that any unclaimed items will be donated by May 1. We encourage you to check the lost and found as soon as possible.

Here at PS2Q, we will be kicking off Climate Action Day with an assembly with "Dinoman" on April 2nd for all students.
On April 9th we have the Queens County Farm museum doing a presentation, as well as Ms. Esquierdo doing a video tour of the STEAM/Hydroponic lab!
Attendance Survey Contest

Friendly Reminders

This is a friendly reminder to wear green on Monday, March 17.

We’re excited to inform you that the school is hosting a contest where your child's classroom can win a pizza party! The first class that achieves a 100% completion rate on the school survey will not only win the pizza party. The grade with the most surveys handed in will have the chance to duct-tape our Principal Ms. Serafin. Let the games begin!

Also, we are organizing two workshops for Summer Rising: today, Friday, March 14, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM, and Wednesday, March 19, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Both workshops will take place in person. If you need help applying for Summer Rising, feel free to stop by!

Additionally, we sent home information yesterday about free scholarships for kindergarten through 5th grade. This is a fantastic opportunity to start saving money for your child's future education.
