Welcome Back!

Dear PS2Q Parents,

Thank you all for making the opening of the first day of school such a successful one! Your support, preparation (colored class cards/child's class number), and enthusiasm were truly appreciated, and it made a huge difference. Dismissal times and doors are attached. Please note we will be having a fire drill tomorrow morning. Our teachers have reviewed the procedures with our students, and they are ready for our first practice!

The First Day of School is Thursday, September 5th!

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to an incredible new school year! For returning students, don't forget to bring your color-coded slip on the first day. It was given with your June report card. Having this slip in hand will help with a smooth entry on the first day.

Doors open at 7:30 am for K-5 breakfast on 21st Avenue. 3K/PK enters on 75th street at 8:00 am. Kindergarten students not participating in the breakfast program enter on 76th street at 8:00 am.

Box Tops for Education!

Our amazing PTA has set up Box Tops for Education to support our school!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to our school online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt with the Box Tops app and earn. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

District-Wide Back to School Community Event

Join the D30 Team for a fun family event and free backpack and school supply giveaway! The District-Wide Back to School Event will be held on Tuesday, August 27th from 4-6pm, at P.S. 92, 99-01 34th Ave Corona, NY 11368

Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway

Assemblymember Jessica González-Rojas is excited to share with you notice of an upcoming community event- A Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway!

She has extended an invitation to the P.S. 002Q community to join them at this event hosted by their office alongside their partners. The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 21st from 4:00PM-6:00PM at Steinway Playground, 37th St & 20th Rd Astoria, NY 11105.

Please note, a school-aged child must be present to receive a backpack. We provide one backpack per child while our supplies last.

Student Council Presents... COZY DAY!

On Friday, June 21st, students are encouraged to come in comfy clothes with their favorite book to share with the class.

Hats Off to Perfect Attendance!

We are excited to announce that beginning next week, there will be an attendance challenge for all students, called, "Hats off to Perfect Attendance!" Between June 3rd and June 14th, all students who are in school and on time every day, will be able to wear their favorite hat to school on June 18th.

Field Days are next week!

Grades K-2 will have their Field Day Monday, June 3rd (See schedule for details).
Grades 3-5 will have their Field Day Tuesday, June 4th (See schedule for details).
Grades 3K & PK will have their Field Day on Wednesday, June 5th at 8:15 am.

Please make sure you children come to school with water bottles and sneakers!

Thursday, May 16th - Tuesday, May 21st - NYSESLAT, the State Exam for ENL (English as a New language) students
Friday, May 24th - PTA Carnival in the school yard
Monday, May 27th - NO SCHOOL - Memorial Day
Wednesday, May 29th - PTA meeting & nominations (virtual) 6:30 pm.
Wednesday, May 29th - Career Day - Students are invited to dress representing a career they are interested in, or in college gear
Thursday, May 30th - Grade 5 Picnic in the yard
